The Youngster Sent The Hilarious Messages After Her Bedtime For Her Mum’s Birthday Have Gone Viral On Twitter
A ʜɪʟᴀƦɪᴏᴜS schoolgirl’s ᴄʀʏɪɴɢ sᴇʟꜰɪᴇ is back after her mum guessed her birthday surprise.

In a text, she said: “Night mum love you, I’m so ᴇxᴄɪᴛᴇᴅ to give you your birthday present because me and nana planned something special. I’m not telling you [what it is], because it’s a surprise.”
The adorable schoolgirl, did give in when Katy asked for a clue though, replying: “They smell nice.”

And when the mum replied “candles”, gutted Mercedes wrote: “It was meant to be a surprise” alongside a ᴄʀʏɪɴɢ sᴇʟꜰɪᴇ.

It comes after the eight-year-old went ᴠɪʀᴀʟ for sending Katy tearful snaps alongside a plea to go to her friends’ house on Sunday night – despite it being past her bedtime. Her ᴄʜᴇᴇᴋʏ ʀᴇǫᴜᴇsᴛ to “go to Ellie and Mason house” came as she was already tucked up in bed for the night around 8.20pm.
Mercedes was hailed a “genius” as Katy’s tweet detailing the exchange racked up almost 200,000 likes and 15,000 retweets. And social media users have become just as invested in the candles chat.
One said: “I just want to give her a cuddle and tell her it’s going to be okay. Her little face.”
Another added: “OMG the candles took me out! I hope you at least acted surprised lol.”
Meanwhile a third asked Katy: “Now why’d you have to go and ʀᴜɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇ.”
Following the ʜɪʟᴀʀɪᴏᴜs texts, Mercedes’ gran Jane Fraser has now joked her daughter won’t be getting the candles in question.
She told the Scottish Sun Online: “Needless to say Katy won’t be getting scented candles for her birthday because I know Mercedes can’t keep anything secret from her mum.”
She added: “She is so like her mum and they really do have a fantastic relationship. Just waiting for an offer of a reality TV show. The two of them are way more entertaining than the Kardashians.”
We told yesterday how little Mercedes has enjoyed being read out the positive responses to the exchanges with her mum.
Katy said: “The crying face sᴇʟꜰɪᴇs are new. She had already been through to ask me in person but I told her no as it was past her bedtime and she was sʜᴀᴛᴛᴇʀᴇᴅ. But she didn’t want to give in so she stormed away in the huff and then text me. She doesn’t really understand ᴠɪʀᴀʟ, but I did tell her I’d put her on Twitter and said loads of people are saying how ʜɪʟᴀʀɪᴏᴜs, cute and adorable she is. She loves that kind of attention, so she enjoyed it. Since she started being able to write and draw, she’s always gave me letters and wee cards. Now because she’s got a phone she’s so ᴇxᴄɪᴛᴇᴅ to text, so she always messages me. We do argue because we’re very similar though. She’s a sᴛᴜʙʙᴏʀɴ goat.”
