A new mum who sᴜFFᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴇxᴛʀᴇᴍᴇ ᴘsʏᴄʜᴏsɪs after giving birth to triplets. A new mum who felt like she turned ‘sᴄʜɪᴢᴏᴘʜʀᴇɴɪᴄ overnight ‘ while sᴜFFᴇʀɪɴɢ from ᴘᴏsᴛᴘᴀʀᴛᴜᴍ ᴘsʏᴄʜᴏsɪs has revealed the terrifying ʜᴀʟʟᴜᴄɪɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴs she sᴜFFᴇʀᴇᴅ after giving birth.
Charity became pregnant following artificial ɪɴsᴇᴍɪɴᴀᴛɪᴏɴ in August 2020, and along with wife Sarah, an HGV driver was over the moon. The wives used a sperm donor from Denmark, and Charity had ɪɴᴛʀᴀ-ᴜᴛᴇʀɪɴᴇ ɪɴᴊᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴs because of sᴜsᴘᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ ᴘᴏʟʏᴄʏsᴛɪᴄ ᴏᴠᴀʀɪᴇs she said.
The mums-to-be were delighted when three little ones were spotted on the seven-week scan: each with their own amniotic sack and placenta, on March 24, 2021. The babes, each weighing four pounds, were born by planned ᴄᴀᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ after a 34-week ᴜɴᴄᴏᴍᴘʟɪᴄᴀᴛᴇᴅ pregnancy. The girls were strong enough to stay in the main hospital with mum, resting in special hot-cots, and fed via nasal-gastro tubes. The new mums cuddled and burped their tots, and changed many tiny nappies, before bringing their family home on April 7.
But Charity Horton, 33, sᴛʀᴜɢɢʟᴇᴅ to relax after babies Raine, Poppy and River were born, and once she got home from hospital barely slept for an entire week. Soon she became very ɪʟʟ ᴀɴᴅ ᴡᴀs ᴄᴏɴᴠɪɴᴄᴇᴅ she was starving her tiny babies – even though the trio were perfectly healthy.
And she believed her mother-in-law Cheryl Horton, 52 was hiding her ᴍᴇᴅɪᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴ, and that Cheryl’s dog was going to ᴇᴀᴛ the babies. In the following weeks, her mental health spiralled, and she started to ʜᴀʟʟᴜᴄɪɴᴀᴛᴇ thinking she could see through the walls.
Frightened Charity began to sᴇʟF-ʜᴀʀᴍ ᴀɴᴅ ᴛᴀᴋᴇ ʀɪsᴋs with her life. The troubled mum once tried to put her foot in sᴄᴀʟᴅɪɴɢ water to see if she could feel the ᴘᴀɪɴ. Doctors initially prescribed the exhausted mum ᴀɴᴛɪᴅᴇᴘʀᴇssᴀɴᴛs and sleeping ᴘɪʟʟs, but the depleted woman couldn’t find peace.
After a month, brave Charity confessed she was having thoughts about sᴇʟf-ʜᴀʀᴍ and was admitted to hospital, where she was ᴅɪᴀɢɴᴏsᴇᴅ with ᴘᴏsᴛᴘᴀʀᴛᴜᴍ ᴘsʏᴄʜᴏsɪs.
