During her interview with The Mail, 39-year-old Alexis said, “We’re over the moon. I’d been expecting to hear we were having another boy but when I found out it was a girl, my face was a picture. I was sʜᴏᴄᴋᴇᴅ ʙᴜᴛ ᴅᴇʟɪɢʜᴛᴇᴅ. Nᴏᴡ sʜᴇ’s ʜᴇʀᴇ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴜs, ɪᴛ’s ᴀ Fᴀɴᴛᴀsᴛɪᴄ feeling.”
Alexis and David decided to name their daughter as Cameron, which is ɪɴsᴘɪʀᴇᴅ by Cameron Diaz, an actress. 44-year-old David, the dad of Cameron, said, “She’s already having a good influence on the boys. They have generally been much better behaved around her, trying to keep quiet in case they wake her up. They also want to help with holding and feeding her. It’s been great.”
Cameron was born on August 27, 2019. She now completes the large family which includes the following: 17-year-old Campbell, 16-year-old Harrison, 14-year-old Corey, 11-year-old Lachlan, 9-year-old Brodie, 8-year-old Brahn, 6-year-old Hunter, 5-year-old Mack, 3-year-old Blake, 2-year-old Rothagaidh.
After 11 babies, Alexis ᴄᴏɴFɪʀᴍᴇᴅ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴛʜᴇʏ ᴀʀᴇ sᴛᴏᴘᴘɪɴɢ Fᴏʀ sᴜʀᴇ.
During her interview, she continued, “No more! I remember saying that last time, but this time I absolutely mean it. I love my family as it is now.”
She added, “Of course, we do get comments about the number of children we have. But it doesn’t bother me what people think. We’re well used to it. Some people think we must be on ʙᴇɴᴇFɪᴛs, but we’re not. David has a good job which means we don’t even qualify for full child benefit.”
She told again her pregnant Journeys: It was last year when Alexis started to feel like she was pregnant again. She did a home ᴛᴇsᴛ, which confirmed that she’s pregnant. The couple decided to go for a gender scan at a ᴘʀɪᴠᴀᴛᴇ ᴄʟɪɴɪᴄ.
Alexis explained how it felt like when the results envelope came in, she said, “When the results came in the post, Harrison opened the envelope because I was too nervous. Wʜᴇɴ ᴡᴇ ʀᴇᴀʟɪsᴇᴅ ɪᴛ ᴡᴀs ᴀ ɢɪʀʟ, ᴡᴇ ᴡᴇʀᴇ ᴀᴍᴀᴢᴇᴅ. It sounds silly because it’s a 50:50 chance, but we were surprised anyway.”
She added, “We’ve been asked a lot whether we’ve had so many children because we were hoping for that elusive girl. But I can honestly answer no. Cameron wasn’t planned, but I was happy all the same, and if another boy had been on the ᴡᴀʏ ɪᴛ ᴡᴏᴜʟᴅɴ’ᴛ ʜᴀᴠᴇ ʙᴏᴛʜᴇʀᴇᴅ ᴍᴇ.”
Alexis is an only child, and she said she never planned to have a large family. David and Alexis have been living together since 1998 in a detached 5 bedroom house in Dingwall, Ross-shire.
To feed the huge family, David takes 3 massive grocery trips to their local market every week. The couple said they spend around 300 Pounds each week on food, and this includes 50 pints of milk, 6 liters of fruit squash, 100 packets of crisps, 30 apples, 25 bananas, 2 kilograms of pasta, 2 lubes of toothpaste, 16 loaves of bread, and 9 large boxes of cereal.
