When a newborn baby smiled as soon as she heard her father’s voice for the first time, that is just what it proved.
Little Antonella melted not only her father’s heart but the hearts of thousands of people when the photo of her million-dollar smile went ᴠɪʀᴀʟ.
Tarsila Rosa and Flávio Vilela were expecting their first child. Flávio was very excited about meeting his daughter and made it a point to talk to her every day. He would greet her every day in the morning and would also come back home for work and talk to his daughter about his day. Flávio always repeated that he loved her very much. He would stroke his wife’s belly and assured his daughter that he would be there for her always. On the day Antonella was delivered, the doctors handed over a sleepy baby to the couple. The baby was born at just over 3.125 kg and 49 cm (6.8 lbs and 19.2 inches.) “They put her on top of me sleeping and as soon as he spoke to her, Antonella opened her eyes and smiled,” Tarsila Batista told Gᴏᴅ Updates.
He repeated to her, everything he used to tell her when she was still in the womb and as soon as she recognized her father’s voice, the newborn smiled. Luckily, this precious moment was caught on camera and when it was posted on Instagram, it instantly went viral.
“I thought I knew what a feeling of true love was, until I looked at that most sincere smile in the world … it was [there] that I could be sure what love is,” Flávio said.
He described his love for her as something that could not be contained in his chest while the baby’s mother Tarsila said that her daughter is a gift sent from Gᴏᴅ. As if to further prove that Antonella wasn’t already daddy’s little girl, she was born on Father’s Day in Brazil.
In a post on Instagram, the happy father – who lives with his family in Brazil – shared a photo of the heart-warming moment his little girl, Captioning the image, he wrote: “I can’t explain the feeling I felt at that moment. Every day I talked to my daughter in her mother’s womb, I always told her that I loved her, that Dad was there and that I was going to be the best father in the world! When she was born, how did she repay me? With the sweetest smile ever.”
