Meet The Adorable  Twins Born Minutes Apart But In Different Years

Their birthdays may be ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴇᴛɪɴɢ with a national holiday, but these two San Diego twins will never have to share the same day – or even the same year.

Jaelyn Valencia was born just one minute before the clock sᴛʀᴜᴄᴋ 12 on New Year’s Eve to parents Maribel and Luis Valencia. Her brother Luis Valencia Jr. was not far behind at 12.01am on New Year’s Day, but the parents already expect that those two minutes will cause some ᴄʟᴀssɪᴄ sɪʙʟɪɴɢ ʀɪᴠᴀʟʀʏ. ‘Maribel really wanted to have the babies on the same birthday,’ Luis said.

‘Because, you know, later on in the years they’re going to have a little ᴄᴏɴFʀᴏɴᴛᴀᴛɪᴏɴ and be like “My birthday came first.'”

But now the parents are just happy to have two healthy babies, who were both measured to be 18.5 inches long.  Jaelyn weighed 4lb 15 ounces and Luis weighed 5lb 9 ounces.

Maribel was scheduled for a Cᴇsᴀʀᴇᴀɴ sᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ on January 6, but was told on Thursday she had to deliver right away due to ᴘᴏssɪʙʟᴇ ᴄᴏᴍᴘʟɪᴄᴀᴛɪᴏɴs because her son was breeched, Luis told KGTV. Luis said the family was ᴡᴀᴛᴄʜɪɴɢ ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʟᴏᴄᴋ to see if they would be one of the first births of the year, but it was Jaelyn who earned the title of being the last baby born in San Diego County in 2015.

‘It was around midnight and she was just popping out.  It was ᴄʀᴀᴢʏ seeing her little head pop out first.’  Luis said of his daughter’s birth

Luis Jr. was possibly the first baby born in 2016 in the county.   The newborns will be joining older sister Isabella, 3, to make the Valencias a family of five.
