Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was named the winner of the 2022-23 J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Award, the franchise announced Thursday.The award is given out annually by the Professional Basketball Writers Association and “honors a player, coach, or athletic trainer who shows outstanding service and dedication to the community.”Warriors' Stephen Curry Wins 2023 J. Foundation in 2019, which “is committed to unlocking the amazing potential of every child by fighting to end childhood hunger, ensuring students have access to a quality education, and providing safe places for all children to play and be active,” per the organization’s website.

The Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation has raised and invested $38 million, invested $3.4 million in literacy programming and has served more than 25 million meals, according to its website.
