Baby On Airport Floor And Reveals The Truth Behind The Photo-A Mum was sʜᴀᴍᴇᴅ
A MUM was sʜᴀᴍᴇᴅ by a ᴍᴀʟᴇ sᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀ who took a photo of her at an airport when she was on her phone as her baby daughter lay on the floor at her feet.
The picture was uploaded online and the man sʟᴀᴍᴍᴇᴅ her for being an “idiot”- but mum-of-three Molly Lensing has ʀᴇᴠᴇᴀʟᴇᴅ there was more to the story than meets the eye.
Molly has spoken out about the viral image and said that she felt her ᴘʀɪᴠᴀᴄʏ ᴡᴀs ᴠɪᴏʟᴀᴛᴇᴅ ʙʏ ᴛʜᴇ sʜᴀʀɪɴɢ ᴏF ᴛʜᴇ ɪᴍᴀɢᴇ and the man shouldn’t have been so ǫᴜɪᴄᴋ ᴛᴏ ᴊᴜᴅɢᴇ. They had the ᴜɴFᴏʀᴛᴜɴᴀᴛᴇ ʟᴜᴄᴋ ᴏF ʙᴇɪɴɢ sᴛᴜᴄᴋ in the middle of the Delta computer sʜᴜᴛ-ᴅᴏᴡɴ. Her Fʟɪɢʜᴛs were delayed and ʀᴇ-ʙᴏᴏᴋᴇᴅ so many times that she spent 20 hours sitting in airports with her two-month-old baby.
She said: “Anastasia had been ʜᴇʟᴅ or in her carrier for many hours. My arms were ᴛɪʀᴇᴅ. She needed to sᴛʀᴇᴛᴄʜ. And I had to communicate with all the family members wondering where the heck we were.”
But once the image went online, Molly found herself ᴛʜᴇ ᴠɪᴄᴛɪᴍ ᴏF ᴀʙᴜsᴇ ᴀɴᴅ ʙᴀᴄᴋʟᴀsʜ Fʀᴏᴍ ᴘᴇᴏᴘʟᴇ ᴡʜᴏ ʟᴀʙᴇʟʟᴇᴅ ʜᴇʀ ᴀ “ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ ᴘᴀʀᴇɴᴛ.” Molly works part-time as a paediatric nurse and was terrified that a co-worker or boss would see the image and it would affect her job.
Molly said most of the time she can ɪɢɴᴏʀᴇ ʜᴜʀᴛFᴜʟ comments that have ʙᴇᴇɴ ᴅɪʀᴇᴄᴛᴇᴅ her way, but there are times when the image ʜᴀᴜɴᴛs her. She said she is ᴘᴏᴡᴇʀʟᴇss ᴄᴏᴍᴘᴀʀᴇᴅ to the internet but her main aim is to be best mum she can be to her girls and knows within herself that she is cherishing them and raising them as best as she can.
Not everyone was ᴀɢᴀɪɴsᴛ her, with mum blogger Mary Katherine Backstrom writing on Mom Babble a message of support.
She said: “No. Just no. We do not snap photos of ᴇxʜᴀᴜsᴛᴇᴅ mothers in the airport and sʜᴀᴍᴇ them publicly. This is gross and needs to stop. I’ve been this woman. “My flight ᴅᴇʟᴀʏᴇᴅ, ʀᴜɴɴɪɴɢ ᴏɴ ᴢᴇʀᴏ sʟᴇᴇᴘ, FᴇᴀʀFᴜʟ ᴛʜᴀᴛ ᴍʏ ʙᴀʙʏ ᴍɪɢʜᴛ sʟɪᴘ sᴛʀᴀɪɢʜᴛ Fʀᴏᴍ ᴍʏ ᴀʀᴍs ᴀɴᴅ ᴏɴᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ Fʟᴏᴏʀ ɪF I ɴᴏᴅᴅᴇᴅ off … I wish she knew that there are mamas who understand ᴇxʜᴀᴜsᴛɪᴏɴ ᴀɴᴅ ɪᴍᴘᴇʀFᴇᴄᴛɪᴏɴ ᴀɴᴅ ᴅᴏɴ’ᴛ ᴄʜᴏᴏsᴇ ᴛᴏ ᴘᴏᴜɴᴄᴇ sᴏᴍᴇᴏɴᴇ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇɪʀ ᴡᴇᴀᴋᴇsᴛ moment.”
