A heartwarming story unfolded as nine-year-old PJ from Kildare, who is battling Ewing’s sarcoma, had his heartfelt wish of meeting Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson granted. The WWE superstar made PJ’s dream come true, leaving the young boy beaming with joy from ear to ear. It’s moments like these that bring smiles and inspiration to all involved.
Reacting to his meeting with the Rock, which was made possible by Make-A-Wish Ireland, PJ said “I’m really excited to be here. My wish has finally come true.”
His mum Tanya said the wish was “a chance of a lifetime” and that her son had never been happier.
Star of the show, Dwayne Johnson, said granting the wishes as “undoubtedly the best part of his fame.”
He took to social media to tell the world about the “cool” get together, saying: “PJ’s an awesome and special boy.
“So cool that I got a chance to hang out with him!! Thanks PJ!”
British actor Jason Statham also made an appearance to help the Rock make some memories for PJ as well as two other kids.
Make-A-Wish Ireland have granted over 2,000 wishes to sick children since 2000.
Make-A-Wish tweeted The Rock’s video, saying: “PJ (9) from Kildare is living with Ewing’s sarcoma and recently had his wish to meet Dwayne Johnson granted!
“Check out the video below to see PJ meet his idol. Many thanks to @TheRock for granting PJ’s wish!”
Johnson’s fans went wild for the video – posted on YouTube over Christmas.
